[Customisation] Chapter 5: Steps to build Virtual Dress

1. Import Mannequin Model

Please find and use the male and female mannequin , namely M_1.6.FBX and F_M_1.6.FBX provided by Magic Mirror™ in the Virtual Dress Package.

2. Build the Garment

Use any kind of 3D software to build the required garments.

Requirement:

  1. Polycount about 60000

  2. No using any renderer such as vray

  3. Fit in the mannequin

  4. Set the project measurement in cm

3. Texture mapping (UV mapping)

Requirement:

  1. UV map of 1024px X 1024px

  2. PNG format

4. Skinning and Rigging of the garment

Requirement:

  1. Garment should height according to the mannequin

  2. Pivot Scale 100, Y-axis up

5. Export FBX

Requirement:

  1. Without texture

  2. Animation > ✔ Deformation> ✔ Skin & Morph

  3. Axis-conversion > Y-axis upward

  4. Units > m (meters)

*Can send working file to Magic Mirror™  team to check before proceed

6. Import to Unity to build Bundle

Find the ClothBundleBuilder.unitypackage in the Virtual-Dress-Customisation-Package.zip and load into Unity2017.  Place the FBX in into the scene set the texture (PNG) created on step 3 and setup the rig.

*Can be done by Magic Mirror™ team (provide FBXs and texture maps)

7. Import bundle to Control Panel

Place the built bundle into the "Asset Bundle", arrange the session and schedule the event in the Magic Mirror™ Control Panel.

*Can be done by Magic Mirror™ or can follow provided guideline in the link here.

8. Restart the APP on Magic Mirror™

After auto-download finish the virtual dress are ready to be tested
